I happened to have a new Chennic dc-dc on the shelf, in preparation for my next conversion. I took the top cover off to see if there were any visible differences to the shorted out one. nothing real obvious except that it looks like it is NOT identical even though I ordered them at the same time. minor differences in component location, etc, but maybe nothing...
