I added some weatherstripping (from jcwhitney.com) along the front edge of hood and lower edge of bumper to completely seal up the opening above the latchbar. Still not the best aerodynamics, but it will prevent water and debris from entering and flowing over the top of the engine bay. The lower grill is still open.
