Decided to do my first round of battery checks and watering... Only been on the road a week, but my batteries had sat a long time before installation and first charge and they had suffered some spillage during shipping. Distilled water, good hydrometer, rubber gloves, safety glasses all recommended. To (slowly and carefully) check all cells in 12 batteries and add a little water took just under an hour. In my case I have to un-screw a number of hold-downs on the rear battery rack which doubles as a rear seat cover. I decided to dedicate an old 'platypus' hydration pack, with a finger clamp I had from beer-making adventures, to be my battery kit.
