I decided to drill and tap the rails themselves for the bolts that hold down the battery vover along the edges. Welding nuts to the back side is pretty messy and time consuming. most of the 'load' in case of rollover would be taken up by the larger bolts in the rear rail that will double for the seat belt mounts, and the front rail which will have three larger bolts going into jacknuts...
