If I had known there would be this much room after install.... I think I might have ordered the motor WITH a tailshaft so that I could have tried adding a pulley and regen braking later. ah well... The good news is that you all now can see that the adapter plate, plus offset plate, plus motor come out to about 15.5" in length. It was MUCH easier installing the electric motor than removing the ICE, even with one person, and did not require loosening the tranmission mounts at all.
